I was in the mood to attempt an old-school style mounting composition like in some fantasy book covers, using swords-and-sorcery style characters to fill it.
I usually shy away from very complex compositions, especially if they involve many figures, so I set this as a challenge to myself, to get painting something outside my comfort zone.

This took lots of time, lost count but has to be 24+ hours in all. Created completely in Photoshop, on a Wacom CS3 tablet
